Promo:

Set in Middle-earth 60 years before The Lord of the Rings, the adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug.

Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of 13 dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Sorcerers.

Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain, first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum.

Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of ingenuity and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities… A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf the Grey, the character he played in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, with Martin Freeman in the central role of Bilbo Baggins, and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield.

Also reprising their roles from The Lord of the Rings in The Hobbit trilogy are: Cate Blanchett as Galadriel; Ian Holm as the elder Bilbo; Christopher Lee as Saruman; Hugo Weaving as Elrond; Elijah Wood as Frodo; and Andy Serkis as Gollum.

The international ensemble cast of the trilogy also includes Manu Bennett, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Barry Humphries, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Sylvester McCoy, Bret McKenzie, Graham McTavish, James Nesbitt, Dean O’Gorman, Conan Stevens, Ken Stott and Aidan Turner.

The screenplay for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is by Fran Walsh & Philippa Boyens & Peter Jackson & Guillermo del Toro. Jackson is also producing the film, together with Carolynne Cunningham, Zane Weiner and Fran Walsh. The executive producers are Alan Horn, Toby Emmerich, Ken Kamins and Carolyn Blackwood, with Boyens and Eileen Moran serving as co-producers.

Storyline:

Bilbo Baggins is swept into a quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum's "precious" ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities

A younger and more reluctant Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, sets out on a "unexpected journey" to the Lonely Mountain with a spirited group of Dwarves to reclaim a their stolen mountain home from a dragon named Smaug.

Summary: Many entertainment commentators including the Media Man agency think that 'The Hobbit' may be one of the best and most popular movies in Australia for 2012, despite the late release in the year. One for the whole family, and both casual and die hard fans should love it.

LUCHA VAVOOM HEADED TO BIG DAY OUT 2013...

Direct from the US, the Lucha VaVOOM troupe will be putting on a show quite unlike any other at BIG DAY OUT 2013. Lucha VaVOOM is non-stop, action-packed surrealism where Mexican masked wrestlers perform breathtaking acrobatic feats in a fast-paced, fun-filled, character-driven style. Known for their far-out flamboyance, its quick, exhibition-style, one-fall Lucha Libre matches designed for maximum enjoyment and action.

The ultimate distraction, Lucha VaVOOM like a little sexo with their violencia; in between matches the finest handpicked burlesque acts from around the world wow the crowds with their unique striptease skills including raucous aerial acts, pogo-stick peelers and hula-hoop hotties. Their insane antics have Jack Black proclaiming “Lucha VaVOOM is the shit!” and it’s easy to see why.

Celebrating their tenth anniversary, Lucha VaVOOM have only got crazier over time. Rooted in history, they draw inspiration from the bizarre world of sixties Mexican Lucha Cinema. The troupe has been considered one of the most outrageous shows on earth having performed sold-out shows all around the world, they have taken to the stage alongside the likes of legends such as Jon Stewart and Dave Chappelle, as well as appearances on Jimmy Kimmel, Attack of the Show, Carson Daly and A Current Affair. Los Angeles Times said the Lucha VaVOOM show “has the pacing of a prison break” and BIG DAY OUT 2013 punters are set for something spectacular with the crew perform in a dedicated area. Here’s what the press have had to say:

“Lucha VaVOOM has a big future.” TIME MAGAZINE

“… It’s enough to make even the most jaded Hollywood insider jump up and yell ‘Smackdown.” ROLLING STONE

“…a raucous and irreverent extravaganza of burlesque, comedy and classic Mexican luchadore wrestling.” THE HUFFINGTON POST.

“Lucha VaVoom is the most exciting, bonkers show I’ve seen in ages.” THE FACE (UK)

“A madcap mix of Mexican wrestling, comedy, and vintage burlesque. I love, love, love it.” VANITY FAIR

“…a weird mix of cabaret, burlesque, Mexican Luchador wrestling with a live DJ, crowd interaction and commentary…depending on the night, people like Drew Carey turn up to do commentary for it. It is the most bizarre experience. The entire audience is dressed up and it’s like Halloween, everyone is in some weird costume. It was the greatest night of entertainment I have probably seen in my entire life.” ROVE MCMANUS

Lucha VaVOOM will be appearing at the El Jimador Mexican Wrestling Bar at all 2013 Big Day Out dates.

Mexican Masked Wrestling + Burlesque + Comedy = Lucha VaVOOM...

Lucha VaVOOM is a non-stop, action-packed scream-a-thon, where Mexican Masked wrestlers flip and fly, performing breathtaking acrobatic feats while battling evil luchadores. Historically speaking, Lucha VaVOOM brings the bizarre world of 60’s Mexican Lucha Cinema to life. Brave, masked wrestling crime fighters save the world from evil brains, vampires, the Bermuda Triangle etc; always with an obligatory stop at the local go-go club.

In-between matches, the finest, handpicked burlesque acts from around the world astound; at Lucha VaVOOM, we like a little sexo with our violencia. Raucous aerial acts, Pogo-stick peelers, hula-hoop hotties; we’ve got it all!

But wait there’s more! Our color commentary is handled by comedians Tom Kenny, Dana Gould and Blaine Capatch. Other guest commentators include Fred Armisen, Brian Poussein, Patton Oswalt, Greg Proops, Jeffrey Ross and Bobcat Goldthwait. Even Jack Black sat in, proclaiming “Lucha VaVOOM is the sh*t!

It all began in August 2003 as a one off event. The overwhelming crowd response convinced Rita & Liz to do it again, and as soon as possible.

Ever since, Lucha VaVOOM has played at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles three times a year -- Valentines Day, Mid-summer, and Halloween. From there, Lucha brought it’s circus to Toronto, where they did two nights at the Koolhaus and made every newspaper and TV news program, including Much Music.

In 2005, Lucha VaVOOM was asked to be a part of the first HBO Las Vegas Comedy Festival, where they performed alongside Jon Stewart, Lewis Black and Dave Chapelle. That same year they performed at the famous Sony E3 party at Dodger Stadium, where they took the spotlight away from the Pussycat Dolls.

Lucha VaVOOM has gone on to perform in Chicago, San Francisco and Amsterdam, with more cities on the way.

They’ve also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, CBS National News, G4's Attack of the Show, Channel X in Britain and A Current Affair just to name a few.

Human Statue Bodyart was once again called upon by an ultra successful theatrical entertainment company, in collaboration with a major Australian dining destination, to help make them stand out from the pack and create a magical evening's entertainment, and once again Human Statue delivered with spades (and fairy statues).

Artists Eva Rinaldi, Vince Cantali and Andrew made up the two models, Phylicia and Daniel, who became unrecognisable once they were fully made out as fairies.

The fairies complimented the Christmas elves and the overall complete entertainment package which was the 'Mid Summer Nights' Dream', South American style, one the first night of Summer in Australia, and what a hot night of entertainment it was. Promo...

About Chimmichurri...

It’s quite simple. Chimmichurri is about sharing great food and drink with friends.

This may or may not include dancing on tables, joyful gluttony, excessive indulgence and just plain old good times. It's spacious kitchen is staffed by some of the best! chef's in Sydney.

When asked about the cuisine and style of this venture the chefs' were unable to define it or give it a name. They did comment that a portion of the menu is a result of the South American heritage and a consequence of a culture dominated by BBQ style cooking using natural wood fire and charcoal.

So how do they get it so right and so good? Easy, they like to keep things simple in the kitchen!!! Although the menu may appear complex and lengthy, the secrets are in the marinades. Basic simple but tasty natural ingredients. Sauces should mainly be used to experience new flavours and textures, not to better flavour meat and that is why Chimmichurri has created it's own line of marinades and sauces (find them on the menu) to complement the Churrasco or your favourite steak or burger!

Recommendations? The Salt & Pepper Prawns served by the Kilo, the 8 hour slow cooked Lamb, the burger 750 (3 paddies of 250 gram Australian pure beef) and ribs, ribs, ribs - enjoy them sweet, basted in Chimmi's own BBQ sauce [up to 1.5Kg] or slow cooked to perfection over the in-ground wood fire BBQ Pit 'Assado style'. And of course the 20 plus skewered varieties of meat, poultry and seafood 'all you can eat' Brazilian BBQ Churrasco!

Just like the eponymous South American marinade it's named after, Chimmichurri promises a bit of spice and a lot of flavour to the dining experience. The name is fun and quirky, definitely not something you're going to forget in a hurry, just like the cocktail trolley that wanders through the tables in the evening offering you a choice of exotic Caipiroskas, Caipirinhas and Mojitos.... See you there!

Today former Australian Prime Minster Bob Hawke launched his new book: 'For The True Believers Great Labor Speeches that Shaped History'

'For The True Believers Great Labor Speeches that Shaped History'

Graham Freudenberg, Australia’s greatest speechwriter, says “the Australian Labor Party was built on speeches.” This book brings together great Labor speeches which give voice to the party’s enduring values and achievements, and place it and its principal figures at the centre of historic events.

There are speeches that stir the imagination and inspire, speeches that appeal to humanity, speeches of sorrow and redemption, speeches that urge moderation and caution, speeches that call for courage in the face of adversity, speeches that seek to mute the trumpet sound of war, speeches that attack the forces of conservatism, and speeches which celebrate and mourn the party’s fallen. Chris Watson articulates Labor’s purpose as “a light upon a mountain” – four decades before

Ben Chifley’s famed “light on the hill” speech John Curtin tells a hushed parliament that “a great naval battle is proceeding” Gough Whitlam declarares “It’s time” for a new Labor government Bob Hawke’s urges South Africa’s apartheid leaders to listen to “the spirit of men and women yearning to be free” Paul Keating’s belief in Labor as “the people who can dream the big dreams and do the big things” Kevin Rudd says “We are Sorry” to the stolen generations of Aboriginal Australians

News...

Former prime minister Bob Hawke has called on both major parties to allow MPs free votes on some issues, ending the "charade" of parliamentary debate and promoting a return to great political speeches.

He urged Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott to tell voters at the next election: "Of course there are particular policies we are committed to. But on some issues there is room for doubt about what exactly is the right way to go. We will introduce draft legislation but there will be no caucusing and we expect members to vote according to what they individually think."

Biography...

With eight years in office, Bob Hawke was Australia’s longest-serving Labor Prime Minister. He became Prime Minister after only two years in parliament, and only one month as Leader of the Opposition.

Building on his success as trade union president, Hawke established consensus with unions and business to stabilise wage growth, improve the ability of business to compete in global markets and to deregulate the Australian economy and promote growth.

The Living End plays The Hi-Fi Sydney, Moore Park - 21st November 2012

The Living End plays The Hi-Fi Sydney...

Profiles

Music Sydney Entertainment Entertainment Quarter Celebrities Sydney

The Living End played at popular Sydney club, The Hi-Fi, Moore Park, Wednesday, and will be back there again tommorow night for the hardcores.

News...

THE LIVING END are thrilled to announce that they will embark on an unique and ambitious tour this year. THE RETROSPECTIVE TOUR will see Australia’s legendary rock’n'roll sons play each of their six albums IN FULL, back-to-back, start to finish, across 35 shows in five capital cities.

This will be the very FIRST TIME each album has been performed live from start to finish, and the feat will almost certainly be the first time any Australian band has undertaken such an inspired tour. The Retrospective Tour will not take in stadium-sized venues either. Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and of course Melbourne will get seven shows across seven nights in intimate club venues, each with a limited capacity. Seven shows and only six albums you ask? Well, eponymous Australian classic album 'The Living End' will get two airings in each city.

The idea of The Retrospective Tour is to give a big TLE-style 'THANK YOU' to all those fans who have bought the albums, come to shows, shown their support and been intensely loyal to the band over the past 15 years. There is something there for everybody, whether you are a die-hard fan of the seminal 'The Living End' album or fell prey to the hard-rockin' riffage presented on The Ending is Just the Beginning Repeating, or something in between. This will be the fans only chance to watch TLE pull out their most memorable, fiery live shows, performing some never-played-before favourites alongside career classics.

When The Retrospective Tour rolls into Sydney in the last week of November the band will be joined by Melbourne indie rock stalwarts EVEN for three consecutive nights, Sydney locals CABINS will take support duties for two shows and AREA 7 will once again join TLE for both performances of their debut self titled album. Spinning tunes each night during the Sydney stint will be 2manyPJs more commonly known as PHIL JAMIESON from GRINSPOON.

Set List:

How Do We Know Raise The Alarm White Noise Moment In The Sun Waiting For The Silence Make The Call Loaded Gun Kid 21st Century Hey Hey Disbeliever / Most People I Know (Think That I'm Crazy) Sum Of Us

Biography

Six albums. Each one, a milestone: The time we thought we were indestructible. The time we lit a fire under the establishment. The time we wondered if it was all worth it. No.6, if we put it under the scalpel, is the album that hunts down the truth, asks the big questions and demands answers. THE ENDING IS JUST THE BEGINNING REPEATING is The Living End’s most honest album yet.

Chris Cheney, Scott Owen and Andy Strachan have always forged their own path, irrespective of passing fads, haircuts, and any vogue for keytar-wielding debutantes. Their songs require of the listener a social conscience and mosh pit stamina, and give in return a visceral experience that’s flawlessly executed. It’s this attitude that’s earned the band four platinum and one gold albums.

Winding up the tour cycle that followed 2008’s WHITE NOISE, Cheney went to New York to buckle down and write, before the songs were jammed out organically in a South Melbourne rehearsal room. Finally the demos were taken to 301 Studios in Byron Bay and Chris’s studio Red Door Sounds in Collingwood for a reworking with producer Nick DiDia — who has put the Midas touch on records by The Living End-approved Bruce Springsteen and Rage Against the Machine — imported especially for the occasion from Atlanta. Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Powderfinger, AC/DC) took the reigns as mixer. The results are astonishing.

This afternoon the Human Statue Bodyart team created two bodypainted male models to help promote the Nova 969 handicap horse race.

Bodypainted male models are not typically the kind of thing you would expect to see at a horse racing event in Sydney, but that's what was on offer today, and hundreds of patrons... especially the ladies in the crowd lapped up the action and eye candy on offer from the 2 legged stallions sporting the 'live life Nova' artwork.

Before long a large crown gathered around the male models and Nova stand and many lined up to see hi and get their photos with the boys on the Nova red carpet.

Artist Eva also took photographs of her impressive Nova model creations.

The promotion helped further cement Nova as a leading Australian radio station, as well as seeing the AJC and their Rosehill Racecourse and premier brands get noticed.

Mike Tyson Boxing Markson Sparks! Entertainment Social and Community Entrepreneurs Publicity Sydney Australia

Boxing legend and ex con, Mike Tyson, has been trying to get to Australia for years.

Recently Australian promoter Max Markson of Markson Sparks! helped 'The Baddest Man On The Planet' make it down under to Australia for what else - another pay day, and to Tyson's credit, he has turned his life around... gone are the drugs and the ho's, with Mike all family man and entertainer with his new lease on life.

Mike still is no angel, based on his badass public speaking and use of colourful language, but when you look into his heart and eyes you can see that he's cleaned up his act. He even told a women in the audience when quizzed about where he was staying in Sydney that he was staying in his own bed, doing nappies, and that's his only party...publicly showing that any womanising days are a thing of the past.

The Mike Tyson documentary - video package that showed before his talk was pretty interesting and entertaining, and showed footage from teen years to recent, and included the good, the bad and the ugly.

What's next for Tyson? More movies, more public speaking and more pay days. Sure beats getting punched in the head and guts for a living. Good on you Mike for making positive changes to your life and wishing you continued success and happiness.

Words of wisdom from Mike Tyson...

"The message of my show would be no matter what adversity hits you in life, don't give up - that's the only time you will lose," he said.

"Someone can be a champion and never have a title."

"We all have to endure some kind of pain," Tyson said.

"I like Evander. Evander's going to be all right.

"It's all about embracing yourself and looking for happiness through that.

"I learned that lesson. If I can make it in what has been a pretty interesting life he can do it as well."

Movies Hollywood Skyfall James Bond Daniel Craig Entertainment Sydney Australia

Australia paid tribute to Skyfall with rain coming down on the red carpet outside Sydney's State Theatre last night.

The parallel was picked up by new Bond girl Berenice Marlohe.

"It is Skyfall," she said on Friday night, gesturing at the rain.

"I remember on set it was raining before a scene I had to do. And it is like an homage to Skyfall."

The weather did not put off hundreds of the Bond franchise's fans.

They jammed in like cattle or sardines if you prefer, behind barriers on the sidewalk to get pictures and autographs from Craig, Marlohe and fellow Bond girl Naomie Harris, who's on her first trip to Australia and said, "The reception makes it sunny".

"It's been a two month whirlwind of going all around the world promoting the movie, but it ends in Australia, so I finally have some free time on my hands and I'm going to spend it in Byron Bay," Harris said.

Craig, who visited Australia for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, said he won't be doing any sightseeing this time around.

"This is the final leg," he said earlier.

"I spent like a week here the first time I came, so I've seen quite a lot.

"I always try and do something when I go to a new city."

Skyfall hasn't been released yet in Australia, but elsewhere in the world it's already grossed $446.5 million and is being pitched by critics as one of the very best Bond films.

Craig, who has admitted 2008's Quantum of Solace suffered from the writer's strike, was determined Skyfall, the 23rd film and released in Bond's 50th anniversary year, would be a step up.

"Just to be better," he said, about how he had wanted it to be different.

"So we kind of had a plan and Sam (Mendes, the director) and I had it from very early on that we wanted to make the best Bond movie we could, obviously, but to try and get some of ... the old style of it."

* Skyfall will be released in Australian cinemas on November 22.

News...

Skyfall is record breaking Bond movie...

The movie has broken records wherever it has been released.

It snatched the biggest US opening ever for a 007 movie at the weekend with a whopping $87.8 million in ticket sales.

Quantum of Solace debuted to a series-best $67.5 million in mid-November 2008, and Casino Royale - marking Craig's first turn as 007 - opened to $40.8 million in November 2006.

In the UK, the Sam Mendes-directed film has passed Titanic as the highest-grossing 2D film. The film opens Australia next Thursday.

The secret to Skyfall's success, according to exhibitors, is Craig's universal appeal.

"Women love him. Men love the action," said Samantha Philp, national film promotions and partnership manager at Event Cinemas.

Even seven-time Bond Roger Moore has given Craig the official stamp of approval, calling him the best Bond ever.

"To me, he looks like a killer. He looks as though he knows what he's doing. I look as though I might cheat at backgammon," he said.

Plot Outline: Daniel Craig is back as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Craig is the best Bond: Moore...

Bond legend Roger Moore, enthralled with ‘Skyfall,’ now thinks Daniel Craig is the best actor to play the legendary spy...

Moore, who began his stint as the action hound in the ’70s, once gave that honor to Sean Connery. ‘They’ve guaranteed Bond another 50 years of life,’ he said of the new film.

Bond alum Roger Moore used to think Sean Connery was the best James Bond, but now thinks that designation belongs to Daniel Craig.

"I went to a screening of ‘Skyfall,’ and I’ve changed my opinion. I think that he (Daniel Craig) is the Bond. He’s quite brilliant," Moore told TIME magazine.

Moore has been a fan of Craig’s ever since the opening scene of 2006’s “Casino Royale,” Craig’s first time in the role.

James Bond's world of movie intrigue explored in 'The Untold Story Of 007'...

“I thought ‘Casino Royale’ was tremendous,” Moore said. “I thought his action was quite extraordinary — he did more action in the first 30 seconds of the film than I did in 14 years of playing Bond. To me, he looks like a killer. He looks as though he knows what he’s doing. I look as though I might cheat at backgammon.”

Craig put his own spin on the iconic spy, just as Moore did when he first took over the role of 007 with 1973’s “Live and Let Die.”

On playing a role already associated with Connery, he said, “You don’t really think about that. How many millions of actors during the last 400 years have played Hamlet? They don’t worry about how the other fella did it — they just get on with doing it their way.”

Moore’s own way endeared his Bond to the public for seven consecutive films by Eon Productions. His third Bond film, “The Spy Who Loved Me,” is often considered his best, just as Connery’s third, “Goldfinger,” is often considered his.

Now Moore thinks Craig’s third performance is the best of the franchise.

"I wrote to Barbara (Broccoli) and Michael (Wilson) and said…they’ve guaranteed Bond another 50 years of life," he said.

Georgia May Jagger in Sydney, Australia; Sunglass Hut floats on water - 14th November 2012

Georgia May Jagger in Sydney, Australia; Sunglass Hut floats on Sydney Harbour with celebrities and product pitch...

Profiles

Music Brands Sydney Entertainment Celebrities Sydney

Sunglass hut... the sunglasses retail company is back to publicity tricks using the good old fashioned celebrity sells... in this case with Mick Jagger's daughter, Georgia May Jagger, and friends, aboard a floating product promotional boat on Sydney Harbour. Not a bad combo and it achieved the goal - free headlines.

Looking at Georgia May Jagger, it’s impossible to miss the shades on her famous parents. Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. Some press is saying she’s the very best blend of her parents’ charisma and good looks. Ah, the benefits of being a famous offspring... and good work opportunities often come your way including product promotions.

In Australia on a promotional tour with Sunglass Hut, she stars in their current advertising campaign with boyfriend musician and model, Josh McClennan. She told Fairfax Media "We’d never worked together before – so it was an interesting experience. Kind of a laugh seeing your boyfriend posing – we had a lot of fun", she said. Guest stars at tonight’s A-list party aboard the Sunglass Hut floating store, they are checking out the sights of Sydney "We’re climbing the Harbour Bridge today, we’ve seen sharks at the aquarium and we’re in love with Bondi Beach".

Georgia is a hot, smart and music appriciating Brit. "There was always music in the house growing up – I love all kinds from blues through to rock 'n' roll. I tried the violin and guitar when I was young, but never really learned to play…and my Mum doesn’t play anything either."

Georgia May is familiar with the modeling and advertising world with cosmetic contracts, major advertising campaigns and her fair share of magazine covers including UK Vogue, UK Elle and this month’s Australian Harper's Bazaar. Yes, we know its got something to do with her famous parents, but good luck to her. That's the world and that's the business. "I’m really trying to have fun with it [modeling]. Obviously, I enjoy the travelling and getting to meet people from all over the world. It’s wild to be working in London one day and then in Australia the next – I just want to keep doing it for as long as I can".

After modeling, she hopes to move into a career in photography. She mentions her mum's Helmut Newtown pictures as inspiration. "I was at university before my career took off and my plan is to be a photographer – my dream would be to travel and take pictures" she said.

Moving like Jagger in the Sunglass Hut campaign...

When it comes to style, the model is a fan of Vivienne Westwood – she’s the face of the new Westwood jewellery line – and has a try-anything-once approach to fashion. "I pick up style from everywhere I go, I like to mix it up. I‘ve got some incredible vintage pieces from my mother’s wardrobe - amazing dresses from her Studio 54 days”. And what about her father’s closet – has she managed to get her hands on any of Dad’s iconic threads? “My sister [Lizzie] has a lot because she’s got the tall skinny figure. I do have one thing of my Dad’s that he doesn’t know I’ve got it and if he did he’d want it back immediately…for a museum".

Sunglass Hut floating store is moored in Darling Harbour, Sydney from November 15 - 18. 10 per cent of all profits from the Floating Store will be donated to OneSight, a leading global vision care charity.

February 23 - Brisbane, Australia - Soundwave 24 - Sydney, Australia - Soundwave

When USA-born Canadian-raised performer Chris Jericho was growing up in his tentative hears he had two main goals. He wanted to be a pro wrestler and a rock star. These days he is both.

Having completed a 12 year run in the squared circle, in which he snatched a total of 29 championships at the professions highest level with the WCW and WWE, including a stint in Japan, he's now wrapt to be fulfiling the second part of his dream, fronting heavy metal act Fozzy.

His band is not quite the main event yet, but they do have a passionate fan base... just as greats such as KISS developed, which helped take them to the megastar level. Jericho is cool to see Fozzy take its place on the undercard of Soundwave 2013 (Sydney Showground, Sunday, February 24), alongside metal gods Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax.

Fozzy was founded in 1999, when guitarist Rich Ward and members of his legendary rap/metal act Stuck Mojo, sought out a cool meathod to to do justice to their own scene idols.

Jericho was recruited to sing under the alias Moongoose McQueen and together they devised a set of live covers with material from the likes of Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, WASP and the Scorpions.

To the band's surprise, they were signed to a record deal and released two albums [Fozzy and Happenstance], mostly containing cover tracks.

Jericho told the Fairfield Champion newspaper...

"I've been playing in bands since I was 12-years-old," he said. "I didn't just wake up one day and say I'm gonna be the singer in a band. I've been playing in bands - singing and playing guitar - my whole life basically.

"When I was a kid I wanted to be in a rock band and I wanted to be a wrestler - those were the two things that I wanted to do and I didn't know I was going to do either one of them, but I just decided this is what I want to do.

"I think sometimes kids say they want to be an astronaut or a geologist or whatever and move on to the next thing. But for me, I never moved on. It was always about both of those things."

Jennifer Lopez; JLO to tour down under in Australia: Dance Again World Tour...

Jennifer Lopez is hot hot hot.

Celebrity is an often a strange thing, but Lopez has long lived an interesting life, since getting her break as a dancer on US TV show In Living Colour in the early '90s. In the ensuing years, through her many hit albums (On the 6, J.Lo, This Is Me... Then), occasional hit movies (1998's Out Of Sight was good!) and a navel-bearing Versace dress that garnered world attention just thought it was pretty"), she's become a global superstar.

At 43, she's enjoying something of a career revival. Her two seasons as a judge on American Idol (she was the nice, nurturing, constructive one) reintroduced her to the public and reinvigorated her career, which had floundered for much of the past decade.

Thanks to the show, her recording career has taken off again, too, and her 2011 single 'On the Floor' became her most successful in eight years. It was also the most viewed video on YouTube that year.

"American Idol made people look at me differently, which surprised me because I always thought people knew how I was," she explains. "I'd always get confused when the media would paint me to be different - it was so weird to me. But with reality TV, you really are exposed for who and what you are. I was lucky people saw the real me, and that changed some people's opinion of who I was."

For the past year, she's been dating her former back-up dancer Casper Smart, 25, who's now the choreographer on her Dance Again World Tour, which heads to Australia in December. "We work well together creatively. He inspires me, I inspire him, and we can do something that someone who doesn't have that kind of love for you can't", she told media outlet News Limited.

It's another reason she left American Idol this year (happy to let Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj duke it out at the judge's table), despite advice it would hurt her career. "I loved Idol, but I had to go with my gut that it was time to get back to doing what I do," she says. "It's fun to be a judge and it was a great thing for me. But, creatively, it wasn't fulfilling to me as a person."

And that means going back on tour, kids in tow. "They watch the show almost every night - they love it, they're excited by it." Max and Emme, it seems, are starting to show signs of their parents' talent.

Jennifer Lopez brings her Dance Again World Tour to Australia from December 6 to 18. For more information, visit www.ticketek.com.au www.jenniferlopez.com
